Do you really understand water-based coatings?
There are many people ask: Is the paint toxic or not!
I can only answer this question for you, by situation! At present, companies at the forefront of development are for water-based paints, and many paint making manufacturers produce paint products that are water-based, which are basically green products and harmless to human health. Traditional oil-based paints, on the other hand, contain toxic gases, such as xylene (a carcinogen).
Next, we will take you to understand the difference between water-based paint and oil-based paint, and hope to eliminate your doubts.
Difference between water-based and oil-based paints.
1、Composition.
Oil-based paint: a kind of paint with dry oil as the main film-forming material, mainly transparent oil, thick paint, oil mixed paint, oil-based rustproof paint and putty. The oil used is mainly tung oil, linseed oil, oyster oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, fish oil, etc. It has the characteristics of easy to produce, low price, good paintability, flexible film, good air permeability, etc.
Water-based coatings:coatings that use water as solvent or dispersion medium, including water-soluble coatings, water-dilutable coatings, and water-dispersible coatings (emulsion coatings). Water-soluble coatings are film-forming materials of water-soluble resins, except water-soluble alkyd resins, water-soluble epoxy resins and inorganic polymer water-based, also represented by polyvinyl alcohol and its various modified products. Resin is the core material.
2、Environmental protection.
Water-based coatings: use only water as a thinner, which is not harmful to human health.
Oil-based paints: organic solvents are used as diluents and contain harmful substances such as benzene, toluene, xylene and their derivatives.
3、Odor.
Water-based paints:no harmful carcinogenic substances, non-toxic and odorless, and can be quickly detected after painting because there are no toxic gases.
Oil-based paint: contains strong irritating odor. The gas also contains a lot of harmful substances, which is harmful to human health. After one or two months of painting, the strong odor can basically evaporate, but it does not mean that the harmful gases have evaporated. A large amount of harmful gases will be released slowly for about 10 to 15 years.
After a lot of existing data analysis to understand, the market has been gradually replaced by traditional paint water-based coatings, and traditional paint materials can only play a surface protection role, easy to be destroyed. And the new water-based paint can already do: high temperature resistance, anti-corrosion, non-stick, oleophobic hydrophobic, thermal conductivity and other functions.
